John W Markert
John W Markert, 81, died June 02, 2011, at his residence in Hobe Sound. Born in Union City, N.J., he moved to Palm City in 1997, coming from Point Pleasant, N.J., and moving to Hobe Sound in 2005.
He was a retired Assemblyman for the State of New Jersey. A Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served on the USS Delta AR 9. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Jean Markert, of Hobe Sound; two daughters, Mary Ann Vaccaro of Ponte Vedra, and Ruth Ellen Hala of Monroe, N.Y., and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Markert, and stepson, Gregory Chadwick.
