A ‘novel’ approach to the Mutt March Festival tomorrow

Mutt March Festival adapts to novel coronavirus pandemic

The CoVid-19 pandemic resulted in numerous canceled events, but two organizations are definitely going ahead with theirs — one happening only “online,” the other re-scheduled to a definite date four months down the road.

The 17th annual Mutt March Festival, sponsored by the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast at Memorial Park on Saturday, March 28, is not taking place in person, but a “virtual” Mutt March is set up online for tomorrow from 10 a.m to 2 p.m.

Planned is a “flea-less” virtual vendor market; a “virtual” doggy costume contest; a Blessing of the Animals by Rev. Jude Denning, an in-home “Walk-A-Thon” and more. For more information, go to https://hstc1.org/muttmarch.
Although performances and productions at the Lyric Theatre in Stuart are suspended through April 15, one organization decided to reschedule its April 25 event to August 29.
Elev8Hope’s inaugural Lip Sync competition, which should be an unforgettable evening of entertainment, is now set for August 29 at 7 p.m. Mark your calendars now, so it won’t get lost in all the rescheduled events later!

The evening will showcase 10 Martin County “rock star” businesses battling to “bring it” in terms of their best Lip Sync, dance, and fundraising capabilities for the local nonprofit organization.

The top-10 contestants were hand selected by the community by accumulating the highest votes via social media campaigns and competitions. They include Orangetheory; Stretch Zone; Powerhouse Gym; Martin County teachers; O’ French Bistro Café; Tami Karol Insurance; Elite Gas; Vakani Orthodontics; Chef’s Table; and Keller Williams of the Treasure Coast.

Tickets for the Aug. 29 event can be purchased at lyrictheatre.com.For more details, go to Elev8hope.org.
