“Hey, where’s the bus? It’s time for our field trip!”
Field trips are super popular here at Hobe Sound Elementary. The Third Grade recently went to the Nutcracker at the Lyric Theatre in Stuart, and the Fifth Grade will go to St. Augustine in June for an overnight trip.
Every trip “must be educational and must relate to the curriculum,” according to Mrs. Joan Gibbons, principal.
Teachers may sometimes choose (the destinations), but students also may give their input if they would like to, she says.
The Martin County School Board pays for the field trips. While some field trips are required, they all are fun.
